Experience an immersive 2-day adventure on Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia – a journey deep into a world of water, floating villages, and unspoiled nature, far from roads and mass tourism.
Your adventure begins before sunrise, at around 4:30 AM. At first light, you will board the boat and cruise across the tranquil lake, passing the first fishermen in their small boats and the floating houses that slowly emerge from the morning mist.
After about 45 minutes, you will reach a secluded floating village in the middle of the lake. Here, all life takes place on the water – and this is where your base camp for the next two days will be. After a short preparation session, you will head straight out to your first fishing spots.
The focus is squarely on fishing in a unique setting: you will fish in narrow canals, open water, and hidden spots around the Village. Your main target will be local predatory fish, such as snakehead, which you will actively fish for in this natural wilderness. Your guide will show you traditional methods and the best spots where your chances are particularly high.
In between, you will return to the Floating Village, where a simple, local lunch will be waiting for you. Afterward, you'll head back out on the water for a second intensive fishing session in the afternoon. The combination of vast expanses of water, tranquil canals, and complete seclusion makes every hour on the lake unique.
In the evening, you will enjoy a traditional meal with the locals in the floating village. The atmosphere is tranquil and authentic, shaped by life on the water. Afterward, you will spend the night in simple hammocks right in the village – no hotel, no luxuries, just you, the water, and nature.
The next morning, you will head out onto the lake again before sunrise. The early hours are the most productive time for fishing, when the lake is calm and nature is awakening. You will once again spend the morning fishing intensively in the best areas around the floating village.
At noon, you will experience the highlight of your adventure: Your own catch will be freshly prepared right on the boat during the “Catch & Cook” session, and you will enjoy it together – right on the water, in a simple and traditional way.
In the late afternoon, as the sun begins to set, you will make your way back to Siem Reap. You will have spent two full days enjoying fishing, nature, authentic village life, and an adventure on Tonle Sap Lake that goes far beyond a typical tour.
