Iveragh Peninsula: Ring of Kerry Photo and Sightseeing Tour

Led by a landscape photographer and tour guide, explore the outstanding scenery and amazing locations to be discovered around the Ring of Kerry, on the Iveragh Peninsula.
With exceptional views out to the Skellig Islands from its western edge, the Iveragh Peninsula has scenic mountain passes that connect picturesque valleys formed from glacial erosion, and crystal clear lakes with rivers that run towards its dramatic rocky coastline, dotted with wonderful sandy beaches. Within this stunning landscape, the Ring of Kerry runs close to a wealth of photogenic historical artefacts and structures including castles, standing stones, abbeys, ring-forts, lighthouses and atmospheric abandoned buildings.

I consider the Ring of Kerry to be an absolutely fabulous 100+ mile road trip with some stunning locations and vistas on the route. Over the last 30 years, as I’ve explored Iveragh with my camera, I’ve discovered so many intriguing spots that are to be found by following the narrow roads and tracks that leave the Ring of Kerry and weave their way to a stunning beach, rocky cove or an amazing panoramic view that only the locals usually get to experience. I recommend at least a two day tour to thoroughly explore the Ring of Kerry and all the wonderful places and antiquities that can be found away from the main roads. Some better known guide books suggest a multi day visit to the area and I’m in complete agreement with them.

Among my own favourite locations to explore close to the Ring of Kerry are:
Derrynane House and Abbey Island
Valentia Island and Lighthouse
The Kerry Cliffs and St Finians Bay
Waterville and Ballinskelligs Bay

As this is a genuine photography and sightseeing tour led by a landscape and nature photographer, I will provide ongoing tuition and tips to improve your holiday photography with any camera or mobile phone. I am also happy to take photos of you and your group during this tour, using your camera or phone.

All the locations we visit are easily accessible using paths from the minibus and there's no strenuous walking or climbing involved.

This tour can also start and finish from the Dingle, Tralee or Kenmare areas - please book all 6 spots on your chosen day and I will collect you from your choice of location or accommodation.
