The whitewashed villages and blue-domed churches of Santorini are some of the most photographed sights in Greece, and walking these iconic streets is a remarkable experience.
On a hilltop set back from the caldera's edge, you'll find the hidden gem of Pyrgos, a medieval village less touched by tourism, where narrow streets lead you to the remains of an ancient castle.
Continue to the town of Firostefani where you'll begin your 30-minute walk to Imerovigli for astounding views from the clifftops.
Then take a half hour drive to Oia where you'll have ample time to explore this one-of-a-kind village. Superlatives don't suffice to describe the beauty of this whitewashed town accented in the colorful pastels of cave homes built into the cliffs, all overlooking the splendor of the bay and the ever-changing perspective of the caldera.
Finally, drive back to capital Thira where you can take a stroll on the promenade passing pretty churches and more remarkable vistas in route to the cable car that will bring you down the cliffside and back to the tender port.

Be prepared for varying weather conditions as Santorini can be windy.
This excursion involves total walking for more than two hours on cobbled streets and uneven ground.
In addition to the extensive amount of walking on this tour, there is a 10-minute walk from the bus parking area in Oia.
At the end of the tour in Fira, guests must be able to walk 0.5 mile in town to reach the cable car station. Long waiting and queuing time are expected to enter the cable car station during peak season.
The tour sequence may vary.
Meeting Point: Outside Thira’s Cable Car Station
Meeting Time: 30 minutes before the tour starts. Exact meeting details will be sent via email, WhatsApp or Viber 24 hours prior the tour.
Identification: The tour representative will stand by the ticket office and hold a sign with guest name and Greek Travel Advisors logo.
Santorini is a tender port. There are 2 ports in Santorini, Thira Old Port (where the cable car is, which takes you to Thira) and Athinios (ferry and commercial pier). Please make sure to take the right tender and disembark to Thira Old port and not Athinios, as you'll will need to take the cable car to reach Thira (cable car ride is couple of minutes). Give yourself enough waiting time as you might encounter long lines to enter the cable car. After embarking on your cruise ship, we suggest asking the cruise ship Guest Relation Officers for more details on how to have a priority disembarkation in order to be able to join the tour at 9:30 in Thira.
