Located on the southern tip of Zakynthos, near the village of Keri, the Mizithres are two towering white limestone rocks rising dramatically from the turquoise Ionian Sea. These formations are named after the traditional Greek cheese “mizithra” because of their conical shape, resembling the way the cheese is typically molded.

According to local legend, the rocks were formed after a powerful earthquake shook the island centuries ago. The seismic force caused part of the cliff to collapse into the sea, giving birth to these majestic formations. Over time, wind and water shaped them into their current iconic forms.

In recent years, the area around Mizithres has become one of Zakynthos' most photographed spots, especially at sunset. Boats often visit the nearby beach, which appeared only recently due to a landslide, adding even more to the site's natural charm.
