Explore Hainich National Park on a special puzzle route that takes you deep into the ancient beech forest. Step by step, you'll solve tasks, find hidden clues, and explore places like the environmental education station, the erosion ditch, or the idyllic Hünenteich pond in the middle of the forest.
The starting point is at the "Fuchsfarm" hiking car park near Mülverstedt. From there, the route takes you through the diverse nature of the Hainich National Park. You'll discover old orchards, an erosion ditch, the environmental education station with a wildcat children's forest, and the Hünenteich. Along the way, you can take a break at numerous places and enjoy nature. The tour ends back at the starting point.
As you wander through one of the largest contiguous beech forest areas in Germany, you'll encounter tasks that require close inspection and joint puzzling. Small rewards await at the end of the tour after you've cracked a combination lock. You can also stop at the start or end point for a bite to eat at a cozy inn with a large beer garden (food and drinks not included).
You'll find the puzzles you'll solve along the way on eight cards. After each task is solved, the decoding compass shows you which card is next. The route description on the cards will guide you through the forest. You'll also discover interesting facts about selected places, such as the history of the fox farm or the special features of the environmental education station, on information boards or via the puzzle cards.
You'll receive all the necessary materials, including instructions, starting information, and puzzle cards, by mail after booking. You decide when you start and how much time you take.

All materials, including starting information and descriptions, will be sent within 3 to 4 days, Monday to Friday. We try our best to deliver quickly, but postal service delays can happen.
Please provide your address during or after booking so that the box arrives on time.
As soon as you have the box, you can start the tour. The selected booking date is not relevant. Remember to bring the box with you when you want to get started.
The route is 6 km long. You'll need about 4 hours with puzzles. If you want to stop at the inn on the way, you should plan extra time for this.
So that all participants can actively participate in solving the puzzles, we recommend the tour for up to 8 people. The tasks are suitable for ages 14 and up. Younger kids can also join in with a little help.
Please inform yourself in advance about possible restrictions and closures on the route through the Hainich National Park.
The starting point for the puzzle hike is the "Fuchsfarm" hiking car park near Mülverstedt (Triftchaussee). In this parking lot, you'll find two information boards and a wooden sign that says "Nationalpark Hainich." That's the first stop on the tour. The necessary information about the starting point is in the enclosed brochure. On the puzzle hike, you'll be traveling as a private group and can start flexibly. Just bring your puzzle box with you. You should plan 4 hours for the hike (approximate hiking and puzzle time without a break and a restaurant visit.)
