From Cajamarca: Excursion to Kuélap and Karajía Sarcophagi + hotel English

Explore the majesty of the Fortified Citadel of Kuélap and marvel at the impressive Sarcophagi of Karajía, coffins of the most important rulers of the Chachapoyas culture.
This unforgettable excursion will unfold as follows:
Day 1: Cajamarca - Celendín - Leymebamba
11:00 p.m. Pick-up from the accommodation and departure to the city of Nuevo Tingo (Kuélap). We'll pass through the districts of Celendín (Cajamarca) and Leymebamba (Amazonas). Night trip, overnight in the vehicle.
Day 2: Nuevo Tingo - Karajía - Nuevo Tingo
7:00 AM: Arrival in Nuevo Tingo. Breakfast (on your own).
8:00 am: Head to Karajía, passing through the town of Lamud.
10:00 a.m. Arrival at the village of Karajía, 30-minute walk to the funerary statues of Karajía, where the mummified bodies of the most important rulers of the Chachapoyas culture were buried. The funerary statues are a set of sarcophagi or coffins, according to the Chachapoyas' funerary tradition, up to 2.50 m high with human forms. They were found in the Karajía ravine in the Luya district of the Department of Amazonas in 1985 by the Peruvian Federico Kauffmann Doig, thanks to the references provided by Carlos Torres Mais. After the visit, we'll head back to the town of Lamud.
1:30 pm. Lunch in Lamud (on your own).
3:00 pm. We'll continue our journey to the town of Nuevo Tingo.
5:00 PM. Arrival in Nuevo Tingo, transfer to the accommodation. Includes a night's rest at the hotel.
Day 3: KUELAP FORTRESS – CAJAMARCA
6:30 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel (included).
7:30 a.m. Head to the cable car terminal for Kuélap.
8:00 a.m. Bus transfer from the boarding station to Platform No. 1; cable car transport from Platform No. 1 to Platform No. 2.
8:25 a.m. Arrival and visit to the Kuélap citadel, called La Fortaleza and built on top of a high mountain. It's the most important archaeological complex in the Peruvian mountainous jungle. It appears to the visitor as an impregnable place, surrounded by cliffs and precipices on three of its four sides, built in an area of beautiful landscapes that combine the heights of the Andes and the Amazon rainforest, creating an incomparable spectacle. Kuélap is made up of two gigantic superimposed artificial platforms, on which a city was built that covers an approximate area of 450 hectares. Overall, and seen from the air, its shape resembles an elongated bird's wing, measuring approximately 584 meters long by 120 meters wide. According to some specialists, 25,000,000 cubic meters of material were used in its construction.
11:30 am. Cable car descent from Platform No. 2 to Platform No. 1; bus transfer from Platform 1 to the Boarding Station in the town of Nuevo Tingo; transfer to a restaurant.
12:00 pm. Lunch in Nuevo Tingo (at your own expense).
1:00 p.m. Head back to Cajamarca.
9:00 PM. Arrival in Cajamarca and transfer to the hotel. That's the end of the services.
