Salkantay Trek 4Days/3Nights Domes

Salkantay Trek is one of the highly appreciated trails to reach Machu Picchu and has less influx of people.
Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa
We will meet at your hotel in Cusco between 4:45 and 5:30 in the morning to take a bus to Mollepata. After two hours, we will stop in Mollepata for breakfast (not included) and for final preparations before continuing to Cahllacancha. There we will meet our support team, who will load the luggage onto horses and mules. Around 9:30 a.m., we will begin our walk towards Soraypampa (3900 meters above sea level), where we will arrive in approximately 4 hours with a constant pace. We will have lunch and in the afternoon we will visit the Humantay lagoon (4200 meters above sea level), a 3-hour round trip walk from the camp to enjoy this spectacular glacial lake. Hot and delicious dinner in the evening.

Day 2: Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass - Huayramachay - Chaullay
Early in the morning, we will be woken up with coca tea. Around 5:00 a.m., we will have a nutritious breakfast and begin the most challenging day of the Salkantay trek. We will climb 6 kilometers uphill through the impressive Rocky Mountains, until we reach the highest point of the hike. From there, we will contemplate spectacular views of the mountains and the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6,264 meters above sea level). After a 2-hour descent, around 1:00 p.m., we will enjoy a delicious Peruvian lunch in Huayracmachay. Then we will continue towards Chaullay, a descent of approximately 3 hours until we reach the camp at 2900 meters above sea level, where we will spend the night in indigenous huts. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. to replenish energy after the day.

Day 3: Chaullay | Collpapampa – The Beach – Aguas Calientes
We will begin our walk at 06:00 a.m. towards the small town of La Playa through the Santa Teresa valley. During today's 6-hour walk, we will enjoy the new, lush landscape. We will pass through Colpapampa, known as the "eyebrow of the cloud forest." After a hearty lunch at La Playa, we will take transportation to the hydroelectric plant, a trip of an hour and a half. Then we will walk 10 kilometers along the train tracks for 3 hours to the city of Aguas Calientes, where we will stay in a hotel.

Day 4: The most important day: Machu Picchu!
We will wake up early after a refreshing night in Aguas Calientes to be among the first to arrive at Machu Picchu and enjoy its serenity in the soft morning light. The entry point opens from 06:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will take an optional bus to Machu Picchu and explore this ancient city with a 2-hour guided tour. Afterwards, you will have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (tickets required in advance). Each mountain takes approximately 3 hours between ascent and descent. We will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train at 4:22 p.m. or 6:20 p.m. (subject to availability) to Ollantaytambo, where a group minivan will take us back to Plaza San Francisco in Cusco.
