Cusco: Excursion to Manu National Park with Accommodation

Before booking the tour, please ask about availability. Day 1: Cusco - Cloud Forest - Pilcopata Lodge We will leave Cusco very early in the morning in one of our vehicles. We will cross beautiful valleys between the Andes mountain range and picturesque rural communities. We will visit pre-Incan tombs of the Lupaca culture and then we will stop in Paucartambo, a beautiful colonial city, and visit the interesting city museum. On the way we will have lunch in the cloud forest. We will continue our descent through the cloud forest, an area rich in endemic species, such as the Spectacled Bear and the Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru's national bird that performs a unique courtship ritual. We will also be able to observe orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc. We will continue observing the spectacular nature along our journey until we reach our hostel, the Pilcopata Lodge, where we will spend our first night. Day 2: Pilcopata - Amazonas Manu Lodge We will have an early breakfast and then visit a coca plantation and a wildlife rescue center. Afterwards we will head to Puerto Atalaya, located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River, at 500 meters above sea level. Here we will begin the descent by boat to observe the enormous diversity of bird species, such as herons, vultures, cormorants, etc., until we reach the Amazon Manu Lodge. There we will have a delicious lunch before going on an excursion to Lake Machuwasi, where we will ride balsa rafts to observe birds, such as the primitive hoatzin and, with luck, caimans, monkeys and capybaras. We will spend the night at the lodge. Day 3: Amazon Manu Lodge - Cusco Early in the morning, we will board our boat and head to the macaw clay lick, a wall along the riverbank where different species of parrots gather, such as the blue-headed parrot, the white-eyed parakeet and the chestnut-fronted macaw, among others. The parrots gather here every morning. Here they eat clay, which is rich in minerals and helps them digest and eliminate toxins from the body. After a delicious breakfast, we will pack our bags and travel by boat back to Puerto Atalaya, where our bus back to Cusco will be waiting for us. We will have lunch on the way back to Cusco, where we will arrive at approximately 18:30. If you do not attend the day of the service, it is considered "Completed" without any claim, postponement or refund.
