विवरण

Discover Transylvania’s UNESCO heritage with guided visits in Sighișoara and Viscri, plus a countryside stop in Saschiz and an optional slow-food lunch at Viscri 32
Leave Brașov in the morning and travel through rolling hills shaped by centuries of Saxon settlement. Your guide uses the first section of the drive to outline the multicultural history of Transylvania and explain how fortified churches and citadels protected local communities.

Your first major stop is Sighișoara, a UNESCO-listed medieval citadel that is still inhabited. Enter through one of its original gates and explore cobblestone streets, towers and small squares. See landmarks such as the Clock Tower, the Covered Staircase and the Church on the Hill, while learning about daily life in a fortified town. After the orientation walk, you have free time for lunch, photos and independent wandering.

On the way to Viscri, stop briefly in the Saxon village of Saschiz. From here, enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and the exterior of the fortified church, and, when available, visit a small local craft shop. This short stop provides context on rural traditions and village structure in the region.

Continue to Viscri, a UNESCO site known for its white fortified church and preserved rural architecture. Walk up to the church and learn how it functioned as a place of worship, storage and shelter during turbulent times. Explore the defensive walls and enjoy views over the surrounding farmland.

In Viscri, you have the option to stop for lunch at Viscri 32, a slow-food restaurant using seasonal, regional ingredients from local producers. Guests who prefer not to join the lunch can use this time for a village walk, photos or a visit to local craft shops. Food and drinks are paid directly at the restaurant.

Throughout the day, the itinerary balances structured guiding with unhurried breaks. Scenic stops may be included when timing allows, and the guide is available for questions about history, local culture and practical travel advice.

Return to Brașov in the late afternoon or early evening.
