Discover the beauty of Nyungwe National Park on a day trip from Kigali. Explore the park's lush rainforest, see its diverse wildlife, and walk along the canopy walkway.
Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Kigali and head to Nyungwe National Park, located in the south-west of Rwanda. The journey takes around 5-6 hours, including a stop for coffee on the way to the park.
Reach the Uwinka Visitor's Center in Nyungwe and register before enjoying lunch. Then, embark on a guided tour of the park's canopy walkway. Admire the beauty of the tropical rainforest, beautiful hills, tea plantations, and impenetrable areas.
Walk along the 160-meter-long and 75-meter-high suspension bridge, which is accessible as part of a guided tour along the Igishigishigi trail, or to those hiking the Imbaraga or Umuyove trails.
Along the way, see countless butterflies, orchids, and colorful birds, including many endemic to the region. Keep an eye out for the 13 species of primate that live in Nyungwe, including the Lhotse’s monkey, which is endemic to the Albertine Rift.
