Every winter, Missouri becomes the stage for one of North America’s most awe-inspiring natural events — the arrival of hundreds of bald eagles during their seasonal migration. This exclusive two-day photography tour, led by professional wildlife photographer Terry Nunn, gives you the rare chance to witness and capture these magnificent birds in their natural habitat.

From the first blush of sunrise reflecting on icy waters to the golden glow of dusk over the riverbanks, you’ll spend your day surrounded by nature’s raw beauty. Expect to photograph anywhere from 100 to 600 bald eagles at varying distances — mature adults with striking white heads and tails, mottled brown-and-white juveniles, and, on occasion, the regal golden eagle.

And it’s not just the eagles — the skies and waters will be alive with tens of thousands of migrating waterfowl including snow geese, trumpeter swans, mallards, pintails, teal, shovelers, adding vibrant movement and sound to every scene. Whether it’s an osprey making a sudden dive, ducks gliding through the morning mist, or a heron stalking the shoreline, you’ll be spoiled for photographic opportunities.

We will meet just outside of St Joseph, MO at sunset and ride in my campervan for the tour. You are responsible for your lodging each night and food while we are out. We will make several passes in a loop which will pass by your parked cars each time so you can keep a cooler in there for food and beverages. I also have a small fridge in my campervan.
