From Zhangjiajie: 2-Day National Park & Furong Town Tour 2-Day Small Group Tour with English Guide

Discover the wonders of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain on a 2-day tour. Visit Furong Town, ride the Bailong Elevator, and walk the Glass Bridge.
Day 1: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Furong Town Night Visit

Begin with a pickup from your Zhangjiajie city hotel and head to the Wulingyuan East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Enter the park and take the shuttle bus to the Bailong Elevator, the world's tallest outdoor lift. Ride up in just 1.5 minutes and step onto the mountaintop.

Spend the morning exploring Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for the floating Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar. See the Southern Sky Column, the First Bridge Under Heaven, and Mihun Terrace. After a simple lunch on the mountain, continue to Tianzi Mountain in the afternoon for Emperor's Writing Brush Peak, Fairy Maiden Flowering, and Helong Park. Take the Tianzi Mountain Cable Car down and exit the park.

In the late afternoon, transfer to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station and take a high-speed train to Furong Town (about 23 minutes). Arrive around 18:10 and head straight into the ancient town.

Furong Town is known as "the thousand-year-old town hanging on a waterfall." As night falls around 19:30, the lights come on and the waterfall turns gold. Walk the Five-Mile Stone Street, try the famous Liu Xiaoqing rice tofu, and head to the Waterfall Viewing Platform and the walkway behind the waterfall for the best photos. Visit Tuwang Bridge and Tuwang Palace for elevated views over the illuminated stilt houses.

Please note: the night visit is a compact high-speed rail version — about 2 hours of free time. You must leave the town by around 21:00 to catch the last train back to Zhangjiajie West (departs 22:01). Your driver will pick you up at the station and take you to your Zhangjiajie city hotel.

Day 2: Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and Tianmen Mountain

After hotel pickup, drive about 1 hour to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Walk the Glass Bridge — 430 meters long and 300 meters high — then follow Route B through the canyon and take a boat ride on Shenquan Lake. Allow 3-4 hours here.

After lunch, head to the Tianmen Mountain cable car station in the city. Ride the 7,455-meter cableway (about 30 minutes each way) and explore Tianmen Mountain: the 999-step Heaven-Linking Avenue, Tianmen Cave, the glass skywalk, and Guigu Plank Road. Take the cable car down and transfer to Zhangjiajie West Railway Station or Hehua Airport for your departure.
