Discover the beauty of Yangshuo on a full-day trip. Climb Xianggong Mountain, cruise through the Shangri-La Scenic Area, and enjoy a bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River.
Begin your journey at Xianggong Mountain, one of the best-known elevated viewpoints over the Li River. Climb the maintained stairway to the observation platforms and look down on a dramatic bend in the river surrounded by steep limestone towers. Depending on the season and weather, the scene may feature clear mountain layers, drifting mist, or soft morning light.
Continue into the countryside near Putao Town to the Qianli Jiangshan Tu scenic photo spot. Its Chinese name means “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains,” a reference to the immense landscape-painting effect created by layers of blue-green karst peaks. This is a natural panorama and outdoor photography location, not an exhibition of the historic Chinese painting. Walk to the designated viewing area and photograph the mountain ranges stretching toward the horizon.
After a lunch break, travel to the Shangri-La Scenic Area, known locally as Shiwai Taoyuan and inspired by the classical Chinese story The Peach Blossom Spring. Follow the standard visitor route, including a sightseeing boat journey through waterways framed by fields, village-style buildings, caves, and karst hills. Cultural displays may operate according to the attraction’s daily schedule.
Finish at the Yulong River Scenic Area, often described as the peaceful countryside counterpart to the Li River. Surrounded by limestone peaks, bamboo, rice fields, and traditional villages, the river offers one of Yangshuo’s most characteristic rural landscapes. Take the confirmed sightseeing raft route and enjoy a close-to-the-water perspective as the scenery passes slowly around you.
