To understand how Sarajevo evolved, travel through its Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslav sections. When you arrive in Jajce, take in the town's rich historical ambiance and see a variety of national landmarks. Before returning above ground to the citadel, where you may take in breathtaking views of the surroundings, explore an underground catacomb where the noble Hrvatnić family is buried.
Afterward, proceed to the Jajce Waterfall and take in the splendor of this 21-meter-tall natural feature that unites two rivers. Visit the collection of old watermills in the area and even buy some freshly ground flour from one of the mills that is still in use. Before moving on to your last destination, stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Finally, reach Travnik's Old Town, which dates back to the fifteenth century.
