The tuffs from which the stone mushrooms were formed are the result of intense underwater volcanic activity dating back to the Paleogene era. This natural site offers a great opportunity for unique and memorable photos.

Located high in the mountains, Perperikon is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Balkans. Dating back to the 2nd millennium BC, Perperikon is believed to have been a major Thracian religious center.
