Beschrijving

Go back in time and visit fascinating monuments when Bosnia was a great kingdom! Fairytale castles are waiting for you!
Bosnia was first mentioned as a state in the 10th century in the document titled "De Administrando Imperio" by Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porfirogenet. During the reign of King Tvrtko, Bosnia had the largest territory and many signs of the king's lifestyle can still be seen and are well preserved.
The country's impressive architecture and natural beauty, including wild rivers and stunning landscapes, offer a glimpse into medieval life. The Old Fortress in Tesanj, the largest in the country, is a national treasure and a must-see for tourists. Another medieval site worth visiting is the Vranduk fortress, which has recently undergone restoration and is now one of Bosnia's best-preserved medieval fortresses.
Visitors can explore the main castle, learn more about the history of the fortress, and enjoy refreshments at one of the local cafes. Today, Vranduk is still a walled medieval village that is inhabited.
