Paddle through calm nighttime waters on a guided kayak tour in Merritt Island. Watch for seasonal comb jellies and other bioluminescent life below the surface.
Head out on a guided LED night kayak tour in Merritt Island and experience Florida’s waterways after dark from a clear bottom kayak. This 1.5 hour tour combines nighttime paddling with the chance to observe seasonal bioluminescence below the surface.
Begin at Kiwanis Island Park, about 15 minutes north of Cocoa Beach, where you will meet your guide and receive a short introduction before launching. Then set off by kayak into the darkened waterways with the included equipment. The LED setup helps illuminate the water beneath your kayak, making it easier to notice movement and seasonal bioluminescent activity in natural conditions.
As you paddle along the route, look down through the kayak and watch the underwater scene come into view. During comb jelly season, you may spot glowing drifting forms below you, while dinoflagellate season can bring flashes of light around movement in the water. The quiet setting and guided pace make this a memorable way to explore Merritt Island at night.
