Explore the historic and cultural treasures of Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City on a memorable sightseeing tour through two highly urbanized cities in Central Visayas. Discover Cebu City’s rich heritage as the “Queen City of the South” and learn about Lapu-Lapu City’s historical significance as a “Historic Resort City.” From centuries-old landmarks and ancestral homes to museums, religious sites, and Cebu’s famous guitar-making tradition, this tour offers a glimpse into the history and culture that shaped the region.

Your tour begins with a hotel pick-up at 7:00 AM. Start at Fort San Pedro and Plaza Independencia, where you can explore one of Cebu’s historic landmarks and learn about the city’s Spanish colonial past. Continue to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, one of Cebu’s most important religious and cultural landmarks.

Visit the Yap-San Diego Ancestral House, a historic home filled with traditional furnishings, antiques, and cultural treasures that provide a glimpse into Cebuano life from generations past. Continue to the Heritage of Cebu Monument, featuring detailed sculptures that represent significant people, events, and landmarks in Cebu’s history.

Next, visit the Taoist Temple, known for its peaceful surroundings, Chinese-inspired architecture, and panoramic views of Cebu City. Please note that the Taoist Temple is not accessible to coaster and bus vehicles.

Continue to Magellan’s Cross, one of Cebu’s most recognizable historical sites, associated with the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines in 1521. Then explore the Cebu National Museum, where you can discover collections and exhibits showcasing Cebu’s history, culture, art, and heritage.

For lunch, guests may dine at the recommended House of Lechon or Bayanihan, with meals at their own expense. After lunch, continue toward Mactan and pass through the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), also known as Cebu’s third bridge. The route is one way only and is subject to traffic and operational conditions.

Upon reaching Lapu-Lapu City, visit the Mactan Shrine, a historical site commemorating the Battle of Mactan and honoring the local hero Lapu-Lapu. Finally, visit Alegre Guitar and discover Cebu’s long-standing tradition of handcrafted guitar making.

After completing the tour, enjoy the journey back while taking in more views of Cebu and Mactan before concluding your sightseeing experience.
