Explore the historic sites of Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the US Military Cemetery on a guided tour. Learn about the D-Day landings and pay your respects to the fallen soldiers.
Begin your tour at La Pointe du Hoc, west of Omaha Beach. Learn how, in the early hours of June 6, 1944, 260 soldiers from the 2nd Battalion of the United States Rangers stormed the headland with its 90-foot cliffs. Hear about their mission to capture and silence the German artillery battery of 6 long-range guns that posed a significant threat to the American landing beaches.
Continue to Omaha Beach, where 33,000 American soldiers landed on D-Day, the largest number of men to land on any of the 5 D-Day landing beaches. Discover how this operation unfortunately turned out to be the costliest in terms of lives lost on D-Day.
Finish your tour at the US Military Cemetery at the eastern end of Omaha Beach. This cemetery is the largest of the 25 military cemeteries in Normandy from the Second World War and is a fitting tribute to the 9,387 servicemen and women buried there.
