Experience the magic of El Totumo Volcano with a guide on a half-day tour from Cartagena. Immerse yourself in the therapeutic mud, enjoy weightless floating sensations, & support the local community.
Experience the bizarre and therapeutic magic of the Volcán de Lodo El Totumo on this essential half-day tour from Cartagena. Begin with round-trip, air-conditioned transportation and the company of a bilingual local guide who will lead the journey and provide cultural context.
Upon arrival at the mini-volcano, climb the stairs and descend into the warm, dense, mineral-rich mud, famous for its therapeutic properties that cleanse and soften the skin while providing an unforgettable, weightless floating sensation for 10-15 (times vary based on day occupancy). Then, you will have 30 minutes or so to wash off and enjoy the nearby lagoon.
While your transport and guide are included in the booking price, all guests must bring small bills in Colombian Pesos (example: 5.000 to 10.000 COP) to cover the necessary on-site services of the volcano entrance free of COP $20,000 and a rinse-off fee of COP $5,000.
Please note these local fees are paid directly to the community members, ensuring your visit directly supports the people of the region. Budget extra cash for optional services like mud massages or photo-taking tips. Bring your own towel, snacks, and beverages.
