Explore Jim Corbett National Park, India’s oldest and most celebrated wildlife sanctuary. Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, this park is a paradise for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and photographers. It is best known for being the first Tiger Reserve under Project Tiger, launched in 1973 to protect the endangered Bengal tiger.

Discover a landscape that is a spectacular blend of dense forests, grasslands, riverine belts, hills, and marshy depressions, offering a perfect natural habitat for a wide variety of flora and fauna. Jim Corbett is home to more than 50 species of mammals, 600 species of birds, and 25 species of reptiles.

Spot the Royal Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Leopards, Deer species, Wild Boar, Sloth Bear, Jackal, Otter, Crocodiles, and Gharials in the Ramganga River. See exotic bird species like Hornbills, Kingfishers, Crested Serpent Eagles, and Bar-headed Geese.

The park’s vegetation includes sal forests, grasslands, bamboo thickets, and riverine flora. About 75% of the area is covered with sal trees, which provide shelter and food for many animals.

Jim Corbett is divided into different safari zones for organized tourism. The Dhikala Zone is the most famous and scenic, known for tiger sightings and forest rest houses. The Bijrani Zone is a dense forest with high chances of spotting big cats. The Jhirna Zone is open year-round and great for bird watching. The Durga Devi Zone is ideal for bird lovers and peaceful forest drives. The Dhela Zone is rich in flora and fauna, open throughout the year. The Sitabani Zone is a buffer zone, famous for its mythological connection with the Ramayana.

Enjoy a variety of activities, including jeep safaris, canter safaris, elephant safaris, bird watching, nature walks, and photography tours. Visit the Corbett Museum, located at Kaladhungi, showcasing Jim Corbett’s life and legacy. Go river rafting in the Kosi River (seasonal).

Stay in forest rest houses within the park (like Dhikala, Bijrani) or in luxury resorts and eco-lodges outside the park at Ramnagar, which serves as the main entry point.
