Escape the city and experience the true Dutch countryside on this relaxed, small-group e-bike tour through Waterland. Just beyond Amsterdam lies a peaceful world of winding canals, grazing sheep, wooden bridges, and charming villages that feel untouched by time.
Your journey begins at our shop near Central Station. After a short ferry ride across the IJ, we leave the urban buzz behind and ride into the wide-open polder landscape of North Holland. With the smooth assistance of a premium e-bike, even long stretches are easy and enjoyable, perfect for confident riders looking to explore more.
We’ll follow quiet country roads and ride alongside traditional dikes (levies), the iconic Dutch water barriers that protect the land from flooding. The route takes us through lush green fields, past canals and farms, and into the postcard-perfect villages of Broek in Waterland and Monnickendam. Expect charming wooden houses, peaceful harbors, and narrow streets with centuries of history.
Along the way, we stop at a traditional cheese and clog farm, where you’ll see how these local icons are made and taste some delicious farm-fresh cheese. We also visit a working windmill, a rare chance to get up close to this timeless Dutch symbol.

1. That all participants must be able to ride a bike confidently on their own. Amsterdam Bike Tours will remove anyone from the tour who poses a danger to themselves or others.
2. The tours happen whatever the weather, rain or shine. Wet weather is not a valid reason to cancel a tour.
3. The minimum age on this tour is 12 year old.
Walk out of Amsterdam Central Station an go east towards Nemo and the OBA. After about 5 minutes of walking you will pass a floating Chinese Restaurant. A little further on your left at the OBA (public library) go to the left. At the end of the street at the right you will find the meeting point of A Bike.
