On the Market Square, you enter the New Church, burial place of the Dutch royal family, and can climb its tower for a view over the city. You walk past the former armory and an office of the Dutch East India Company, hear about Delft's role in the Golden Age of the Dutch Republic, and see the spot from where Vermeer painted his View of Delft. Along one of the city's oldest canals, you pass the old synagogue and the Maria van Jessekerk. At the Vermeer Centrum, you learn how the painter lived and worked in his hometown.

After lunch, you enter the Old Church with its leaning tower, where Vermeer is buried, and pass the Prinsenhof, where William of Orange was assassinated in 1584. The day ends at Royal Delft, the only Delft Blue manufacturer still operating since the 17th century. You walk through the museum and the factory, where a painter decorates the pottery by hand.

Your guide meets you at the statue of Hugo Grotius on the Market Square, or at a location of your choice in the city center. Pick-up and drop-off from elsewhere, including Amsterdam, can be added. You set the pace: want to spend longer somewhere? Just let your guide know.
