This is a comfortable cycling adventure through powerful nature, along the old navvies road, along beautiful lakes and between high mountains that lie at the foot of Hallingskarvet National Park.
Hi, I am Paul and I will take you on a guided adventure in the Norwegian mountains.
We start from Vatnahalsen train station on the famous Flamsbana train line.
We use comfortable electric bikes to cycle along the historic Rallarvegen until we get to Klevavatnet mountain lake.
Along the way we will see Reinunga and Seltuft lakes, go through deep gorges and cycle by Kleva stone bridge.
This is a good time for a warm drink while we take in the incredible mountain views.
We then cycle back to our base-camp at Vatnahalsen hotel and if the weather did not allow us to spend much time at the lake can can enjoy here a hot chocolate and some delicious waffles.
The Rallarvegen (the Navvies' Road) is designated as a cultural monument and important part of Norwegian National Heritage. It runs from Flåm, past Myrdal and Finse glacier and ends in Haugastøl. It has been named Norway's most beautiful bike ride several times. This is a journey through powerful nature along beautiful lakes and between high mountains. It lies at the foot of two national parks, Hallingskarvet and Hardangervidda National Parks. The way the road is built and maintained is still in keeping with what was typical of that time, and today everyone can admire the impressive work done on walls and bridges in the early 20th century.
The road runs parallel with the Bergen railway and is closed for vehicles, it continues purely as a trail/cycle-track.

BELANGRIJKE INFORMATIE
Getting to us (Vatnahalsen train station) is only possible by train and not by car.
Book you train tickets from Flam, Voss or Bergen on the "vy.no/en" website.
Sometimes the train from Flam/Myrdal is sold out. We recommend booking the train tickets early.
It is possible to walk from Myrdal station (1,5km & 120m vertical ascent) if the Flamsbana is sold out. It is possible to store luggage at Myrdal train station or at the trip's starting point at Vatnahalsen.
Our base-camp is just behind the train station to the left of Vatnahalsen hotel's entrance.
