Continue to Radegast Station, the former railway station from which thousands of Jews from the Łódź Ghetto, as well as deportees from other parts of Europe, were transported to the Chełmno extermination camp and later to Auschwitz-Birkenau. The final part of the tour focuses on the history of the Łódź Ghetto (Litzmannstadt Ghetto), established by the German occupation authorities in 1940. Once the second-largest ghetto in occupied Europe, it became a place of unimaginable hardship, forced labor, hunger, and isolation.
