Skip the parking scramble. We drive you from Achada do Teixeira up to the PR1 start at Pico do Arieiro by private SUV — enjoy the peaks from your window, then hike one-way back to your own car.
Your day begins at Achada do Teixeira, where most hikers leave their car — the exact spot the trail brings you back to at the end. No shuttle to catch on the way home, no taxi to hunt for when your legs are tired.

We meet you there and drive you up to Pico do Arieiro in a private SUV — just your group, no sharing. Sit back and watch Madeira's central mountains open up around you: laurel forest giving way to bare volcanic ridgelines, often above a sea of clouds. In summer the Arieiro car park fills before sunrise, but that's no longer your problem.

We drop you fresh at the very start of PR1. From here it's just you and one of Europe's great ridge walks — staircases carved into the rock, tunnels through the mountainside, and the crossing between Pico do Arieiro (1,818 m) and Pico Ruivo (1,862 m), the island's two highest peaks. You hike it one-way, the only direction now permitted. From the summit of Pico Ruivo, the trail leads you down to Achada do Teixeira — back to your own car.

Prefer to start from Pico do Arieiro instead? No problem — leave your car there, hike one-way to Pico Ruivo, and we collect you at Achada do Teixeira and drive you back to your car. You choose which end to park; we handle the rest.
