There is something special about waffles in Nordic culture, especially amongst outdoors people.
There is something special about waffles in Nordic culture, especially amongst outdoors people. It's the ultimate fireside luxury food, and if you bring the waffle iron make sure you have enough to share or you may end up with none for yourself.

The tradition of waffles in Sweden stretches back to at least the 17th century with the oldest written record of waffles in Sweden.

On this trip we bring you either by car or snowmobile to a scenic spot somewhere near Abisko where we will show you everything from how to start a fire with nothing but an axe, a knife a fire steel and the firewood itself to how you cook the perfect waffles over an open fire.

The waffles are served with whipped cream and of course cloudberries, the gold of the north as well as some warm drinks.

The guide will also tell stories about the place we visit.

Only short hikes will be required

The waffles are lactose and gluten free and there is a vegan and lactose free option available for the cream on request.
