Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Cairns City or Cairns North. Head to Lake Barrine and relax at the lakeside cafe while enjoying the view (food and drinks at your own expense).
Next, search for wild platypus, one of Australia's most unique animals (sightings depend on the season and conditions). Visit the Curtain Fig Tree, a giant strangler fig estimated to be over 500 years old, viewed from the boardwalk, and then Millaa Millaa Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by rainforest and a great photo spot.
In the afternoon, explore Paronella Park with your Japanese-speaking guide, walking among the moss-covered castle ruins, waterfall, and lush gardens. On the way back, stop at Wangan Bakery, a bakery popular with locals, where you can buy Aussie meat pies (cash only, at your own expense).
Your guide takes photos of you during the tour, and drone shots are available on request when weather and location allow.
