Descrição

Explore the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre on an exclusive OTBT guided tour. Meet the animals, learn about conservation efforts, followed by a scenic hike with a morning tea break.
Step into the heart of the Perth Hills for a special encounter with some of Western Australia’s most iconic wildlife. Begin with an exclusive OTBT guided tour at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, a not-for-profit sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of WA’s endangered black cockatoos.

Learn about the life-saving work being done to protect native black cockatoos, from rescue through to their hopeful release. Meet some of Kaarakin’s permanent feathered residents who act as ambassadors for their species. Visit free-roaming kangaroos, emus, guinea fowl, and perhaps even a peacock or two.

Discover the role of Australia’s apex land predator – the dingo – and what makes them so special. Step inside Jack’s Interactive Aviary for an up close and personal experience where friendly black cockatoos may perch on you for a gumnut snack.

After your 75-minute wildlife encounter, lace up your boots and head out for a scenic 3km guided hike through the neighboring native bushland. With eyes to the sky, listen for the calls of wild cockatoos and immerse yourself in the sounds, smells, and sights of this beautiful natural environment. Enjoy a signature OTBT morning tea on a granite outcrop, complete with views of the Perth city skyline.

$20 from every ticket sold goes directly to Kaarakin to support their vital conservation work. Reconnect with nature, support conservation, and discover the stories of WA’s beloved black cockatoos – this is an experience you’ll never forget.

Off The Beaten Track WA provide a trained and experienced Lead Guide and Support Guide for our hikes. We carry two-way communication devices, a personal location beacon when phone signal is not available and we’re a fully licensed, insured and accredited Western Australian tourism business provide hiking and adventure experiences with a twist!
