Day 1: Arrival in Guilin
Fly or take a train to Guilin, the "pearl of southwest China" famous for its unparalleled landscape. Upon arrival, meet your greeter at the airport/train station and transfer to accommodation. Morning: Transfer to Caoping Wharf for an electric bamboo raft cruise on the Li River. Visit Xingping Ancient Town, a millennium-old riverside town hailed as "the essence of Li River beauty" and the backdrop of the fifth-series 20 RMB note. Explore its well-preserved ancient streets, bridges, stages, and temples.
Afternoon: Drive along Yangshuo Ten-Mile Gallery, a vibrant scenic highway like a "living Chinese landscape painting". Spot iconic attractions en route: Camel Crossing the River, Beauty Looking in the Mirror, Sun Wukong Crossing the Flaming Mountains, Tang Sanzang Meditating, Goat Horn Mountain, the Big Banyan Tree, and Moon Hill.
Continue to Silver Cave, a stunning karst cave known as "Guilin's most beautiful karst cave". Marvel at its magnificent, colorful stalactites — crystal clear and lifelike, resembling a cascading silver river, hence the name.
Evening: Enjoy a special ethnic experience — a Dong minority long table banquet followed by a bonfire party.
Day 3: Dong Culture, Yulong River Rafting & Elephant Trunk Hill
Morning: Explore the 3A-level Dong Ethnic Drum Tower to immerse in minority culture. Learn about Dong intangible heritage, including Wind and Rain Bridges, Drum Towers, and handmade crafts like silver ornaments. Dong clothing and silver gongs are crafted via traditional techniques: smelting, pressing, carving, engraving, and welding.
Next, embark on a leisurely bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River, hailed as "surpassing the Li River" for its clear blue waters, flanking bamboo groves, rolling mountains, and pastoral scenery. Enjoy a tranquil escape; on nice days, join in folk song singing.
Finally, visit Elephant Trunk Hill — Guilin’s iconic landmark. The mountain resembles an elephant drinking from the Li River, with a lifelike and captivating appearance.
