Set against the backdrop of Guilin's history and ethnic customs, it uses advanced audio-visual technology and stage machinery, combining singing, dancing, acrobatics, martial arts, and other art forms to present a visual and auditory feast. The specific introduction is as follows:
Prologue: The Call of Ancient Times
It showcases the prehistoric civilization (30,000 to 7,000 years ago) when ancient humans made pottery and hunted in caves like Baoji Rock and Zengpi Rock along the Lijiang River, giving birth to a splendid prehistoric culture.
Act 1: Songs of the Earth
Guilin is a settlement of multiple ethnic groups. This act uses singing and dancing to depict the harmonious coexistence of the Zhuang, Yao, Dong, Miao, Yi, and other ethnic groups, as well as the beautiful dances and folk songs passed down among them.
Act 2: The Love Story of Rice Noodles
It tells the legend of Qin Yingsao, who traveled thousands of miles to find her husband during Qin Shi Huang's southward expedition to 百越 (Baiyue) with 500,000 troops. She stayed in Lingqu and pioneered rice noodles by grinding rice into flour, symbolizing how rice noodles contributed to China's first unification.
Act 3: Jingjiang Royal Palace
In 1370, Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty enfeoffed the Jingjiang Prince in Guilin. This act reproduces the glorious history of Jingjiang Palace, demonstrating how Guilin became a vital southwest town connecting the sea and central plains under the governance of successive Jingjiang Princes.
Act 4: Liu Sanjie
Through the legend of Liu Sanjie, this act shows Guilin's folk customs, leading the audience into a poetic and romantic world as countless tourists from home and abroad visit Guilin to seek the legendary singer.
