This autumn-exclusive Hangzhou trail is carpeted with osmanthus. One of West Lake's New Ten Scenes, Manlong Guiyu is the city's briefest and most stunning autumn wonder—miss it, wait a year.
Our hike begins at Shiwu Cave in Manjuelong. Inside the cave, fragrant osmanthus flowers bloom alongside ancient stone carvings – history and fragrance intertwined. Our guide will take you through the most enchanting side of Hangzhou in autumn. The beauty along this trail is breathtaking, almost surreal.
As we continue, you'll spot the "Spirit House" – a building that bears a striking resemblance to the bathhouse in Spirited Away, drawing countless visitors. Further ahead lies the White Crane Peak swing, where you can overlook the rolling tea terraces – a perfect photo spot.
Along the way, over 7,000 osmanthus trees burst into bloom. This is Manlong Guiyu, one of the New Ten Scenes of West Lake. We end the walk at Yangmeiling, a peaceful village of white walls and black tiles – the perfect place to rest, with its cozy guesthouses, cafés, and local eateries.
It's a relaxed, autumn‑only trail. I don't think anyone could help falling in love with it.
