Explore Ganja on a day trip from Baku. Visit the Mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, the Shah Abbas Mosque, the Chokak Hamam, the Bottle House, and the Medieval Caravanserai.
Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Baku. Travel to Ganja, the birthplace of the poet Nizami Ganjavi. Visit the Mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, a 20-meter-tall cylindrical marble structure surrounded by a landscaped park. See the bronze monument dedicated to the poet's literary contributions and admire the gold-inscribed name above the entrance.

Next, head to the Shah Abbas Mosque, also known as the Ganja Juma Mosque. Built in the 17th century in the Arran architectural style, this mosque features two tall minarets and a dome adorned with intricate decorative elements. Explore the mosque complex, which includes a monumental mosque building, a freestanding northern entrance portal flanked by twin minarets, and the Ganja madrasah.

Continue to the Chokak Hamam, a historical bath built in 1606 by order of Shah Abbas. Learn about the traditional materials used in its construction, such as red bricks, egg whites, clay, and a lime-based binding mixture. The hamam is still in operation today.

Next, visit the Bottle House, a local icon of Ganja. This entire house is constructed from more than 50,000 glass bottles, each one carefully placed to form intricate patterns that give the building its unique appearance.

Then, head to the Medieval Caravanserai, a significant center for trade and craftsmanship in the Near and Middle East. Built in an oriental style, the two-story caravanserai features 15 halls and 54 cells, with designated areas for pack animals in the yard.

Continue to Khan Baghi Park, one of the most notable historical landmarks in Ganja. Originally established in the 18th century, the garden offers a peaceful retreat with its unique blend of nature and history. Explore the garden’s features, including stone walls, fountains, and pathways.

Finally, visit the Mausoleum of Imamzadeh, a Muslim relic and one of the main landmarks of the city. This sacred structure holds significant religious importance for Muslims, as it is believed to be the final resting place of an important figure from the Prophet Muhammad’s family. After your visit, return to Baku.
