Full-Day Historical and Cultural Sightseeing Tour in Sucre

Discover the history, culture, traditions, and everyday life of Sucre in an immersive full-day experience, touring the city from its indigenous roots to modern Bolivia.

We'll start the tour in Sucre's oldest neighborhood with a visit to the ASUR Museum, where you'll learn about the living indigenous cultures that surround the region, their extraordinary fabrics, their symbolism, and their traditions. This museum offers one of the best introductions to the cultural diversity of Bolivia.

Then we'll head to La Recoleta, the city's first colonial square. Here you'll discover the origins of Sucre, its oldest streets, its colonial architecture, its vantage points, and the legends that are part of local history, while learning about the impact of Spanish colonization.

We'll continue to the historic center to visit the Casa de la Libertad, the place where Bolivia's Declaration of Independence was signed. During the visit, you'll learn about the most important events in the history of the republic and the birth of the country.

Afterwards, we'll tour the Central Market, where you can observe the hustle and bustle of everyday life, learn about local products, and discover some of Sucre's most popular traditional snacks.

At noon, we'll take a local bus to visit a family home, where you'll enjoy an authentic homemade lunch. You'll share the table with a local family while enjoying traditional dishes such as the famous mondongo chuquisaqueño, peanut soup, and typical drinks. This will be a unique gastronomic and cultural experience that will let you get to know the hospitality and customs of the people of Sucre up close.

In the afternoon, we'll stroll through Simon Bolivar Park, admiring its European-inspired architecture, monuments, and gardens that reflect Sucre's development during the republican era.

Later, we'll take another local bus to the General Cemetery of Sucre, considered one of the most beautiful garden cemeteries in Bolivia. There, you'll learn about its history, traditions, famous figures, and the curious stories that surround it, while enjoying a traditional api con pastel, one of the country's most representative snacks.

To finish the experience, we'll return by bus to the historic center of Sucre, where the tour will end after a comprehensive journey through the history, culture, gastronomy, and everyday life of the White City.
