Quito: Mindo Cloud Forest, Cable Car & Chocolate Tour

Explore the cloud forest of Mindo on a 2-day tour from Quito. Visit the San Tadeo viewpoint, explore the orchidarium, and cross a cable car to the Nambillo waterfall, enjoy a unique chocolate tasting.
Day 1: San Tadeo & Mindo
Leave Quito in the morning and head towards the northwest route Quito Calacali - Mindo. In approximately one hour and 45 minutes, find yourself at the entrance of one of the microclimates of the area towards the Pacific coast, the cloud forest where there is a great biodiversity in both flora and fauna, located at approximately 2300 meters.

Stop at the viewpoint of San Tadeo for a beautiful experience in contact with nature and to appreciate some varieties of birds in the area among which we have hummingbirds, tangers toucans Woodcreeper etc.. In addition to having a beautiful view of the town of Mindo place declared as a preservation area of the biosphere of Ecuador place in which we offer a wide range of activities for the adventurous as Canopy Rafting tubing.

Continue to the town of Mindo, the second point to visit is the orchidarium in which we have a great variety of species of orchids, bromeliads and Heliconias among the orchids we have approximately 4500 species in Ecuador in this place 250 in addition to having a beautiful experience in contact with the cloud forest. Time for Lunch (not included)

Continue to ascend to 2,300 meters to cross in a cable car about 200 meters and take the path down to the waterfall of the river Nambillo low difficulty level, waterfall about 7 m high which forms a natural pool where you can take a refreshing swim. Dinner (not included) and accommodation.

Day 2: Mindo
After Breakfast, visit the butterfly farm in the same way there is a nice experience and in contact with this environment of this species and to understand a little more of the metamorphosis that these beautiful guardians of nature have. Have some time to taste some of the typical dishes of the area (not included), such as tilapia or trout freshwater fish.

Finally, visit a museum of one of the most important export products of Ecuador, the delicious cacao. Observe the whole process to obtain this delicacy of Ecuador. In addition to having the different plantations of this fruit of the Choco region, and a small store where the different products derived from cacao are offered.
