Descrição

Escape into Oslo’s forest on a guided hike through folklore, troll stories, Trollvann lake, Norwegian trail snacks, and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the city and Oslofjord.
Escape the city on a three-hour guided hike through Oslo’s forest trails, just outside the city centre. Designed with input from Viking history and folklore experts, this experience combines fresh air, beautiful scenery, storytelling, and a small taste of Norwegian outdoor culture.

Your tour begins at the forest trailhead in the Grefsen area, where your guide will lead you into the woods. As you walk beneath the trees, you will hear stories from Norway’s past and present, including Viking legends, ancient folklore, troll tales, and traditions that still shape everyday life today. Along the way, keep an eye out for hidden trolls among the rocks and trees.

The route continues past a popular local ski hill, where you will learn about Norway’s deep connection to skiing and outdoor life. From there, follow peaceful forest paths towards Trollvann, a scenic lake surrounded by trees and hills.

At Trollvann, you will stop for a light tasting of Norwegian trail snacks and a hot drink, such as coffee or cocoa. The snacks are chosen to reflect Norway’s outdoor traditions, food history, and close relationship with nature, while leaving a few surprises for the day itself. In good weather, guests who wish to do so may also enjoy an optional refreshing swim.

After the lake stop, continue uphill to a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Oslo, the surrounding forest, and the Oslofjord. It is a beautiful reward after the climb and one of the scenic highlights of the tour.

The hike then returns through the forest to the original starting point. This tour is perfect for travellers who want to experience Oslo beyond the city centre, slow down in nature, and discover the stories, flavours, and landscapes that live within Norway’s forests.
