Descrição

Discover Scotland’s history on a full-day tour from Glasgow. Visit Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, and the Kelpies, and explore the historic sites of Dunfermline Abbey and Bannockburn.
Journey into the heart of Scotland’s past, where rolling hills, winding rivers, and lush green valleys reveal the landscapes that have inspired storytellers for centuries. Your route takes you through the Central Belt, a region steeped in history and natural beauty, setting the stage for a day immersed in heritage, legend, and culture.

Your first destination is the awe-inspiring Kelpies at The Helix park near Falkirk. These enormous 30-meter-tall horse-head sculptures are a remarkable fusion of art, engineering, and Scottish identity. Created to honor the critical role of horses in Scotland’s industrial and agricultural development, the Kelpies rise majestically above the Forth Valley, visible for miles. Capture the sculptures from multiple perspectives, and hear the legends of kelpies, the mythical shape-shifting water spirits of Scottish folklore. This stop perfectly combines visual spectacle with storytelling, showcasing Scotland’s unique ability to weave history, myth, and creativity together.

Next, visit Dunfermline Abbey, a site of immense historical and spiritual significance. Founded in the 11th century, the abbey served as a royal burial place and is closely associated with Robert the Bruce, one of Scotland’s most celebrated kings. Wander through the tranquil grounds and marvel at the Gothic architecture, intricate stonework, and solemn beauty of the abbey. Knowledgeable guides share stories of royal intrigue, medieval spirituality, and Scotland’s political heritage, bringing the abbey’s centuries-old history vividly to life.

From Dunfermline, journey to the imposing Wallace Monument, perched atop Abbey Craig above Stirling. This iconic tower commemorates William Wallace, hero of Scotland’s fight for independence. Climb the spiral staircase or take the lift to the viewing platform for sweeping vistas of the Forth Valley and Stirling Castle. Inside, interactive exhibitions recount Wallace’s life, the Wars of Independence, and medieval Scotland’s turbulent history, making this monument both an inspiring tribute and an educational experience.

Pause briefly at Stirling Bridge, the site of Wallace’s legendary victory in 1297, and imagine the bravery and strategy that turned the tide of Scottish history. Then, explore Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s grandest fortresses. Stroll through the Great Hall, royal chambers, and restored palace apartments, discovering centuries of art, culture, and politics, all while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Conclude your journey at Bannockburn, where Robert the Bruce’s triumph in 1314 secured Scotland’s independence. The Bannockburn Visitor Centre offers interactive displays and immersive storytelling, providing a vivid understanding of the battle, its strategies, and the courage that shaped a nation.
