The tour will start at the Hector Pieterson Memorial, where you will be learning about one of the critical points in the abolition of apartheid in South Africa called the 1976 Soweto Uprising. This was when young heroines, like Antoinette Sithole, were brave enough to protest against the apartheid regime, and young heroes like Hector Pieterson were killed fighting for the liberation of South Africa.
Visit the famous Vilakazi Street where the famous Nelson Mandela’s house is located.
Get a chance to see the former home of Arch-Bishop Desmond Tutu and share key knowledge about what made him so prominent.
Taste mouthwatering local cuisines like the Kota ( township burger ) or the famous Braii.
Visit one of the local breweries for a chance to do a beer tasting of the local Tolokazi beer.
Stop and hop in a minibus taxi, South Africa’s mode of transport to Orlando East, the first location to have brick houses (formal settlement) in Soweto. You will also get a chance to meet and greet the locals while having a nice local ride to your destination.
*(Optional) Visit one of the informal settlements of Soweto and see how Soweto first looked like and explore the lowest living class of Soweto, since even though Soweto is a middle-class township, it is also segregated into the three living classes.

You will walk for 5km or 3,1 miles in total and there will be stops in between.
Then together with the guide m, you will hop on the local transport minibus to the Soweto Towers.
When you arrive at the provided meeting point location, you will be able to see the famous Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial. Next to the meeting spot there’s is a coffee shop with the name Vilakazi Espresso in bold and the meeting spot will be on the right hand side of the coffee shop.
