Day 1: From Djerba to the Sahara: Matmata, Toujane, and Douz
Begin your adventure with an early morning departure from Djerba or Zarzis. Head to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte dwellings. Visit a traditional underground home and learn about the local way of life.
Continue to Toujane, a spectacular Berber village nestled between the mountains. Enjoy lunch at a local spot before heading to Douz, the "gateway to the Sahara."
Enjoy some free time in Douz. Then, depending on the option you choose, take a camel ride through the dunes or go on a quad excursion. End the day with a sunset in the desert, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Douz.
Day 2: From the Desert to the Tozeur Oases
After breakfast at your hotel, set off for Chott el-Jérid, crossing its salt landscapes. Arrive in the Tozeur region and visit the medina to discover its traditional architecture, alleys, and souks.
Enjoy a local lunch before heading to the mountain oases. Explore Chebika, its oasis, and its springs. Continue to Tamerza and its waterfall, then pass through Mides and its impressive canyons.
Continue to Chott el-Gharsa and arrive at Mos Espa/Ong Jmal, the famous Star Wars set. Explore the desert landscapes in a 4x4. End the day with a sunset in the desert and tea with a view of the Nefta region. Finally, return to Djerba or Zarzis.
