Day 1: Batumi - Trabzon - Sumela Monastery

Depart from Batumi at 08:00 and travel to the Georgian-Turkish border at Sarpi. Our team will assist you during the border-crossing process. Continue along Turkey’s scenic Black Sea coast toward Trabzon, enjoying beautiful views of the sea, mountains, and local villages.

After arriving in the Trabzon region, enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant and taste local Black Sea cuisine.

Next, visit the spectacular Sumela Monastery, dramatically built into the cliffs of Altındere National Park. Dating back to the 4th century, this historic monastery is one of northeastern Turkey’s most impressive landmarks. Explore the monastery, learn about its history and legends, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Continue to Trabzon and check in at your hotel. In the evening, enjoy free time to relax or explore the city. You can walk along the waterfront or visit local markets selling traditional spices, sweets, tea, and souvenirs.

Day 2: Trabzon - Uzungel Lake - Batumi

After breakfast, depart at 09:00 and travel into the mountains toward beautiful Uzungel Lake.

Surrounded by pine-covered mountains and traditional wooden houses, Uzungel offers one of the most picturesque landscapes of Turkey’s Black Sea region. Enjoy free time to walk around the lake, take photographs, and explore the area.

Depending on weather and availability, optional activities include bicycle rental, a boat ride, or visiting a panoramic viewpoint. You can also enjoy an optional easy walk or jeep safari in the surrounding area.

Have lunch at a restaurant by the lake and try regional specialties such as trout, pide, and traditional Turkish tea. Don't miss the famous view of the mosque beside the lake, one of Uzungel’s most recognizable sights.

After the visit, begin the journey back toward Batumi. Depending on the schedule, enjoy a short sightseeing stop in Trabzon, with possible views of the historic center, Gülbahar Hatun Mosque, Trabzon Fortress area, or Boztepe viewpoint.
