Meet your guide at the designated location on Gulou West Street. Stroll through authentic Beijing hutongs full of local life, including Zhonglouwan Hutong, Doufuchi Hutong, Zhaofujie Hutong, and Wangzuo Hutong. These hutongs are free from heavy commercialization, allowing you to experience real Beijing family life up close.
Visit the Beijing Central Axis Culture Museum, housed in a historic building with over 700 years of history. Learn about ancient capital culture and the Central Axis heritage. Next, stop by the Beijing Central Axis Post Office, the city’s first cultural and creative postal complex themed on the Central Axis. Located in the restored Hong’en Guan Temple, it combines postal services, cultural products, and cultural experiences.
Continue to the Zhaofujie State-run Grocery Store, founded in 1956. It still retains its original old-fashioned appearance, with many interior facilities dating back to its opening. See displays and posters kept in the 1970s style. This store has served more than 1,300 local families for decades.
During the tour, participate in traditional Chinese cultural experiences, including Chinese calligraphy, traditional paper-cutting, and Peking Opera mask painting. These hands-on activities will help you deeply immerse yourself in Chinese culture.
