Tbilisi: Armenia Day Trip with Lake Sevan and Yerevan

Embark on a day trip from Tbilisi to Armenia. Visit the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, explore the town of Dilijan, and see Lake Sevan and Yerevan.
Begin your journey with a departure from Tbilisi. Make your first stop at Haghpat Monastery, an active complex that includes a narthex, two burial corridors, a refectory, a scriptorium, the Chapel of Amazasp, a bell tower, and several chapels. Admire the architectural ensemble and see ancient tombs and khachkars (cross-stones).

Next, visit Sanahin Monastery, one of the major medieval cultural and religious centers of Northern Armenia. Explore the church complex, its green-roofed buildings, and the vaulted interiors with columns.

Continue to Dilijan, where you can visit the monument dedicated to famous Armenian film actors and taste the well-known Dilijan mineral water.

Stop for lunch at a restaurant with a stunning view of Lake Sevan. Don’t miss the chance to try the local delicacy — Sevan whitefish. After lunch, visit the 9th-century Sevanavank Monastery, which includes the Church of St. Karapet and the Church of the Holy Apostles.

In Yerevan, visit the Museum of Modern Art, Republic Square, and the Yerevan Brandy Company, Armenia’s leading producer of alcoholic beverages. Finally, return to Tbilisi.
