The elevator (Ascenseur des Marolles) moves up and down the cliffside, watching it gives a cool sense of the city’s vertical layers. Pause here. Brussels looks peaceful from above, and you can hear the distant hum of streets below.

Facing away from the skyline, you’re now right in front of the Palais de Justice, one of the world’s largest 19th-century courthouses. Walk along its huge pillars, circle the façade for dramatic photos, and admire the golden dome that glints in the sun. Even without going inside, its scale alone is breathtaking.

After soaking in the atmosphere, head a few steps toward the tram stops or the shops around Louise. You’ll find several waffle spots nearby. Order a Brussels waffle (light, crispy) or Liège waffle (caramelized, soft). Top with chocolate, powdered sugar, or strawberries, no wrong answer here. Eat it warm while walking back toward the viewpoint or along Avenue Louise. The smell of melted sugar and butter drifting through the crisp air makes this part unforgettable.
