Beskrivning
See Hakone’s volcanic landscape and visit Hakone Shrine by Lake Ashi. Walk the stone-paved Old Tokaido Road on a tour with a live English-speaking guide and professional driver.
Travel from Tokyo to Hakone on a guided day tour that connects volcanic landscapes, samurai history, Shinto traditions, and the historic route between Edo and Kyoto. Accompanied by a live English-speaking guide and professional driver, begin with an exterior visit to Odawara Castle Park and hear how Odawara served as the gateway to the Hakone mountains.
Continue to Owakudani, where steaming volcanic vents reveal the area’s active geology. Enjoy one traditional black egg while learning about Hakone’s volcanic activity and hot spring culture. On clear days, Mount Fuji may be visible from the area, though views depend on weather conditions.
Ride the Hakone Ropeway toward Togendai, with time to purchase lunch before boarding a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi. Visit Hakone Shrine, a lakeside Shinto site with longstanding spiritual importance. Then walk a preserved stone-paved section of the Old Tokaido Road and its cedar avenue, following in the footsteps of travelers who once journeyed between Edo and Kyoto.
Conclude at Amazake Chaya, a traditional teahouse associated with Old Tokaido travelers, where you will receive a cup of non-alcoholic amazake. Return to Tokyo after a full day of stories, landscapes, and cultural landmarks. Shared small-group and private tour options follow the same core route
