Chishui Danxia is not a single enclosed park. Its major attractions are located in separate scenic areas, including Chishui Waterfall, Foguangyan, and Yanzhiyan. Each offers a different combination of waterfalls, Danxia landforms, forests, and walking trails.
Choose Chishui Waterfall to experience one of the region’s most impressive natural sights. The waterfall drops approximately 76 meters and stretches about 80 meters across a dramatic Danxia landscape. Follow the scenic paths through lush vegetation and admire the waterfall from different viewpoints. Depending on conditions and access, you may also experience the misty scenery around the rock passages near the waterfall.
The surrounding area is home to ancient tree ferns and rich subtropical vegetation. Different options may include a sightseeing shuttle, round-trip elevator, or an additional dome cinema experience, allowing you to choose a visit that suits your preferred level of comfort.
For dramatic red-rock scenery, choose Foguangyan. Its immense curved Danxia cliff rises above the surrounding forest, with a waterfall descending from the towering red rock face. Follow the walking trails through forest and streams toward viewpoints offering impressive panoramas of the cliff.
Foguangyan is particularly striking when sunlight reaches the red sandstone, bringing out the intense colors and layers of the Danxia landscape.
Alternatively, explore Yanzhiyan, a peaceful forested scenic area known for waterfalls, streams, ancient tree ferns, and distinctive red sandstone formations. Walk beneath the forest canopy and discover sights such as Yanzhiyan Waterfall and the layered cascades of Liantai Waterfall. Depending on your selected option, cable car transportation may be included.
Please note that Chishui Waterfall, Foguangyan, and Yanzhiyan are separate scenic areas located some distance from one another. They are not connected by internal sightseeing transportation. If you plan to visit more than one area, arrange your own transportation between them.
