Experience the wide-open night sky near Wupatki National Monument on a private evening reserved entirely for your party. Away from Flagstaff’s brighter surroundings, the high desert offers a dramatic setting for slowing down, looking up, and taking in the stars.
Meet your astronomy guide at the viewing location and settle into a comfortable evening beneath the sky. Begin with a guided introduction to the constellations, their stories, and the science behind what you see. With no other groups sharing your tour, there is time for questions and for exploring the objects that interest you.
Move from the sweeping naked-eye view to premium telescope observations. Depending on the season, Moon phase, and weather, your guide selects targets such as planets, star clusters, nebulae, or distant galaxies. The SmartEye digital eyepiece adds another way to explore, revealing color and detail in faint deep-space objects that can be difficult to see through a traditional eyepiece.
Thoughtful hospitality, chairs, blankets, and hot drinks help you settle in and enjoy the desert night. The experience focuses on stargazing; it does not include a daytime archaeological-site tour. Sky conditions determine the evening’s targets, and no particular celestial object is guaranteed.

This private experience takes place outdoors inside Wupatki National Monument. A vehicle monument entrance pass is required and is not included; purchase it separately before arrival. Dress warmly in layers and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. The night sky varies with the season, Moon phase, and weather. This is a stargazing experience, not a daytime ruins tour. Transportation is not included
Meet your Flagstaff Stargazing Adventures guide in the Lomaki Pueblo Trailhead parking lot inside Wupatki National Monument. Stay in the parking area; do not walk to the pueblo ruins. This is not the Wupatki Visitor Center. Please arrange wheelchair accommodations in advance. A monument entrance pass is required and is not included.
