1) Pickup and transfer to Kechene (10–15 minutes)

- Take a taxi/ride-hail to Kechene (also spelled Ketchene), a neighborhood historically known for its Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jewish) community. Travel time depends on your starting point and traffic; allocate ~10–15 minutes if starting centrally.

2) Kechene (Ethiopian Jew Village) (35–40 minutes)

- What to do:

- Walk through the neighborhood with a local guide if possible to learn the history, architecture, and community life.

- Visit any small community sites, synagogues (if accessible), and speak with residents or community leaders about cultural practices and the migration history of Ethiopian Jews.
- Photograph streets and daily life (ask permission before photographing people).

3 ) National Museum of Ethiopia (40 minutes)

- What to see:

- “Lucy” (Australopithecus afarensis replica/original exhibits) and human evolution galleries.
- Archaeology and prehistory exhibits, stone tool displays.
- Ethnographic displays showing Ethiopia’s cultural diversity, traditional crafts and art.

4) Transfer to Mercato (20–25 minutes)

- Will take a taxi to Mercato, one of Africa’s largest open-air markets. Travel time ~20 minutes from the museum depending on traffic.

5) Mercato

- What to do:

- Walk the main sections (textiles, spices, electronics, handicrafts). Focus on a couple of areas rather than trying to see all.
- Shop for souvenirs like woven baskets, scarves, spices, coffee, or traditional beadwork.
