Learn the magic of Paper Marbling! A traditional Florentine craft you'll learn materials, brief history, culture & demo of patterns. Then dive in to create your own unique art to take home from Italy
Paper marbling is a traditional artisan practice from Renaissance Florence and this hands-on workshop will teach you the materials, history, and process with a live demo of this unique art dating back centuries. We will begin with a brief introduction- sharing the cultural roots of marbling and the secrets this ancient craft including paper treatment, mixing colours, pattern techniques & tools, followed by a demonstration. Then you will be free to explore and practice, making your own papers to take home.
* Lessons are at a local art studio centrally located in Florence. On occasion locations may be updated, in which case a private message will be communicated in advance. If you have any questions about the space please feel free to contact me directly.
* The length of the workshop is about 1.5- 2 hours
*Suitable for all ages, the workshop is family/child friendly! Private groups available, simply choose days/time on request and message for special availability & pricing. Children may participate from 3+ with a valid voucher
Cancelations - due to material & space prep refunds are only approved with over 48 Hour notice. Less than 24 Hours notice or No-shows will be charged full amount.
** A min. qty of participants is required for this activity to take place. If you are a single traveller, please write me to find an available slot to fill you in or inquire about private sessions. Single reservations may be asked to modify date/times

Please be aware we will be using paints that splatter during the workshop. while aprons will be provided, we recommend appropriate clothing
Workshops are held at a local art studio located at Via dei Giraldi, 11 (name is L'appartamento") you may ring the bell (l'appartamento') from the street to enter. Inside, continue through the door straight ahead. NOTE: To access the studio room, guests must go up one flight of stairs, please be cautious if any guests have mobility issues

- Aprons are provided, we will be working with paints that splatter so please dress accordingly.

- Paper samples & artwork done by our studio will be on display and available for purchase as souvenirs if desired.
- Food & beverage are not offered for standard workshops. We may accommodate private groups on request only, if you would like to organize a custom workshop please contact regarding options and availability. This must be requested and approved in advance only.
