You will learn about the devastation and suffering caused by the atomic bombing while also experiencing the strength and resilience of Hiroshima’s recovery.
The tour begins at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where you will learn about the history of the atomic bombing and visit monuments dedicated to peace.
Next, head to the Former Bank of Japan Hiroshima Branch.
Despite being located very close to the hypocenter, this building still stands today and is said to have resumed operations just two days after the atomic bombing.
Visitors can explore the interior and take photographs, offering a powerful and tangible insight into the damage caused by the bomb and Hiroshima’s remarkable recovery.
You will then visit Fudo-in Temple, known as the only temple in Hiroshima that houses a National Treasure.
Miraculously spared from the atomic bombing, the temple offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere for quiet reflection.
If time permits, the tour will also stop at Hiroshima Castle.
This beautifully reconstructed castle provides insight into samurai history and offers the chance to see colorful carp swimming in the castle moat.
The tour concludes with a taste of Hiroshima’s local cuisine.
