5.00am - Begin your day with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel. Set off towards Amboseli National Park in a comfortable safari-equipped jeep or minivan. Watch Kenya awaken around you as you pass by sleepy towns, rolling savannahs and the first golden rays of sunrise kissing the distant hills

7.15am - 8.00am - Make a brief stopover along the way to grab quick breakfast and buy something for lunch and some snacks to bite along the way. Your guide will advise you on the best approach about lunch which depends on the option chosen and your dietary preferences

09.15am - Make an optional stop by a local Maasai community village neighboring the park to learn more about their way of life and their co-existence with wildlife. This part of the itinerary can be done at the beginning or towards the end of the tour depending on how your guide advises.

9.45am Later arrive at Amboseli National Park and be greeted by the grand silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro. As you enter the park the magic begins; elephants with mighty tusks, zebras crossing your path, cheetahs perched on termite mounds and flamingos painting the marshes pink

Roam across Amboseli's golden plains and emerald wetlands. Track big herds of elephants as they parade across the landscape. Spot lions resting under the shade. Admire the contrast of animals moving under Africa’s most famous mountain backdrop. Your guide a seasoned safari expert will share incredible wildlife stories as you explore

12.30pm - 1.15pm - Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at observation hill a scenic picnic site surrounded by breathtaking 360° views of the park and the sounds of nature. Alternatively you can enjoy hot buffet at Ol Tukai lodge within the park or sumptuous bush lunch prepared by Sopa lodges at a campsite within the park. Feel the warm breeze, watch birds fluttering by and take a moment to soak in the wild beauty of Amboseli

1.15 - 3.45pm - After lunch embark on a second game drive. Search for the shy leopard gaze at the shimmering mirages across the salt flats and follow giraffes striding gracefully across the open land. Visit the observation Hill for a 360° view of the park and a vantage sight of the Kilimanjaro with the ice - capped peak clearly visible on a good day. This is also actually among the best spots to enjoy your packed lunch as you wow at the scenic sights and learn more about the history of the mountain and communities living around the greater Amboseli ecosystem. Afterwards embark on the last part of your game drive watching the time before heading out towards the main gate for the return trip to Nairobi

With your memory card full and your heart fuller it’s time to say goodbye to Amboseli stopping by a craft market on your way to shop for souvenirs. Enjoy a relaxed drive back to Nairobi sharing photos and safari stories with your new travel friends
